The Farmhouse Montessori School is an independent Montessori school in Sydney’s Northern Beaches providing Montessori education programs for children aged 2-3, 3-6 and 6+. We are committed to supporting the child development as an individual and as part of a community. We provide an environment that encourages and supports the child’s awareness of their importance in caring for each other and their role in caring for the earth and its inhabitants.
In 2014, the Farmhouse Montessori School expanded to offer a primary program for children aged 6-9. Our primary school campus is located in the Gatehouse of the old School of Artillery, within the stunning grounds of North Head Sanctuary, Manly. Surrounded by pristine bushland overlooking the harbour, our primary school provides the perfect environment for our students to further develop their love of learning, independence and curiosity.
We aim to maintain in children, their sense of wonder of the world and their love of life in all its forms, working with the children and their families in developing practices and commitment in creating a sustainable environment.
The School aims to provide both creative and stimulating intellectual, artistic, and developmental experiences for the pre-school and kindergarten child. We strive to cultivate each child’s natural desire to learn and to foster his/her natural curiosity and love of knowledge.
The Montessori classroom is comprised of four interrelated areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics and Language, which incorporates Human Society, the environment and Science. A full range of cultural experiences including drama, music, poetry, cooking, art, storytelling, incursions and field trips complement the daily routine.
We strive to instill in each child a sense of acceptance and understanding through our diverse learning environment.
